Fun & Fundraising – Cents For Water

As part of my Corporate Communications program, I took an Event Management course. So obviously part of the class was to actually plan an event – more specifically a fundraiser.

My team and I chose to support the Canadian charity, Free The Children. We named our event Cents For Water and would raise money to provide children in need with clean drinking water for life. What better way to get rid of all your pennies than to give them to charity!

On Monday April 8, 2013, after weeks of planning, agreements and disagreements, we finally hosted Cents For Water at Factory Girl Gastropub on Danforth Ave in Toronto.

It was SUCH a success!!

I honestly couldn’t be happier with it.

We had great attendance (probably around 70-80 people) and everyone seemed to have a really good time.Β The food was delicious and the cocktails were going down almost too smoothly.

In the end we raised over $1,500 for Free The Children – WAY surpassing our goal.

Thank you so much to everyone who came out and supported Cents For Water. Thank you to our sponsors and all those who donated AMAZING items towards our raffle. Most importantly, I thank my team for being so easy to work with. It was a pleasure my friends πŸ™‚

Can’t wait to plan my next event!
